Registration of NGO for Validation
• After request of validation is received from the NGO with registration fee, the NGO is intimated on the procedural formalities

Desk Review
• List of documents meeting compliance to the fiscal, legal and regulatory norms currently being followed in India are submitted with application form by the NGOs. The documents and forms are reviewed and analyzed by a team of program and Finance experts at CAF India

Site visit for interviews, Focus Group discussion and consultations
• Meeting the chief functionary and key board members to understand and assess their perspective on organizations,
• Meeting with staff members about the organization vision/objective, key program and beneficiaries
• Meeting the key stakeholders which includes the community and external stakeholders to understand their perception about the NGO
• Focus Group discussions with beneficiaries
• Physical verification of the reports & records (Finance and Program)

Data analysis and report writing on credibility and capacity quotients
• CAF India team prepares a detailed report on summary and observations. The report covers the key strengths and limitations of the NGO. Recommendation for validation is put up to an internal committee

Certification
• The NGO is given a CAF India certificate which has validity period of 3 years The validation can be terminated if the organization is found not complying with CAF India norms and standards. The validation of the NGO is to be renewed after an expiry of 3 years and the aforementioned steps will be repeated
