Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) India is an independent non-profit Trust, registered in India in 1998, and part of the CAF International Network having offices in the UK, USA, Russia, Bulgaria, Australia, Brazil, South Africa and India. The mission of CAF network is to promote strategic giving. Globally, we work with over 3,000 companies and manage over £2.5bn for non-profits and donors, supporting non-profit organizations in over 90 countries. CAF network across the world harnesses local knowledge and expertise to design solutions specifically for the benefit of your business and the communities in which you operate

In India, CAF is partnering with over 50 Corporates, 30000 individuals, 300 NGOs, supporting over 500 projects across the country. We have more than 15 years of experience of corporate advisory, design and delivery of programs for providing innovative solution driven response to various social initiatives. We have a robust NGO due diligence program and have more than 1800 validated NGOs. Our Giving products include payroll giving, corporate CSR, grant making, Trust Fund etc.

In the wake of the new Companies Act 2013, the CSR landscape in India has opened new opportunities for CAF. This is an exciting opportunity to lead an experienced and ambitious team committed to increasing CAF’s role and impact on the social sector both in India and globally and to grow and develop a bespoke corporate advisory model to scale. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in leading the organisation’s reputation as an expert in CSR advisory for providing high quality; expert advice that focuses on delivering collaborative approaches that achieve greater social impact, and sustainable solutions for corporate clients.

Job Title : Information Systems Manager
Location : New Delhi

Job Profile:

CAF India is looking to hire "Information Systems Manager" responsible for the secure and effective operation of all computer systems, related applications, hardware and software that is used within the organisation. IS Manager will also be responsible to manage applications as well systems vendors and provide timely support and guidance to develop new applications/ systems required for improving operational efficiency. The selected candidate will report to the Head of Communication & Marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead on developing Online Giving Platform and its management
2. Ability to manage multiple online platforms such as Website, blog and knowledge management tools and manage multiple vendors
3. Lead on MIS development
4. Look after organisational IT infrastructure and set-up
5. Evaluate user needs and system functionality and ensuring that ICT facilities meet these needs: Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, intranet systems, Audio/video support

6. Planning, developing and implementing the ICT budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness. Make recommendations for future upgrades, purchase hardware and software.
7. Oversee installation, ensure back-up systems operate effectively;
8. Ensure smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email provision;
9. Providing secure access to the network for remote users;
10. Offering users appropriate support and advice
11. Ability to grasp new technology and accordingly make recommendations
12. Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally
13. Good understanding of analytics and prepare monthly reports


MCA /MBA with specialisation in IT systems. Two years of Experience:

  • Minimum 4-5 years of professional information systems experience which includes developing,
  • maintaining, and installing information systems, and analyzing systems.
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience of IT systems
  • Demonstrated successful experience of vendor management 
  • Strong knowledge of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, C#, Silverlight, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML 5, AJAX etc)
  • Understanding of software development cycle. Proven experience of software testing and user experience
  • Deep functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and an ability to grasp things fast

Job Title: Manager, NGO Credibility & Engagement
Reporting to: Team Leader, NGO Credibility & Engagement.
Location: CAF India, New Delhi

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitating CAF India's work on NGO validation, capacity building, accountability, transparency & governance, and advocating for the same.
  • Promoting different services offered by CAF India for NGOs and pro-actively building long term strong relationships with NGOs and corporates.
  • Ensuring that high quality standards are maintained in the validation and advisory work;
  • Analyzing NGO due diligence reports and identifying capacity building and other needs of NGOs and devise effective strategy/work plan to address issues.
  • Organizing capacity building workshops for NGOs in the area of governance, leadership, strategic planning, program and financial management and human resource management.
  • Regularly revisiting and improving CAF India's NGO validation process and formats with a view to adding more depth and quality.
  • Undertaking field visits for data compilation on NGO due diligence, analysis and report writing on each NGO due diligence.
  • Strengthening and diversifying CAF India services for NGOs through proactively identifying new business opportunities, grants and other forms of support.
  • Creating and maintaining a comprehensive MIS on NGO validations, files and mandatory documents for the project for audit purposes.
  • Representing CAF India at relevant forums, conferences, meetings and network with sector/non-sector representative organizations.
  • Liaising with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Planning Commission and networks of NGOs on policy related issues of the NGO sector.
  • Building relationships with different civil society networks, chambers of commerce, INGOs, and Government agencies and ensure that CAF brand is recognized.
  • Assisting in developing a roster of qualified consultants with expertise in relevant areas and coordinate with them. Identifying consultants, develop TOR and manage delivery against the expectations.
  • Supporting development of a guidance manual on CAF India NGO validation.
  • Performing any other related task assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications, experience & competencies:


The applicant must possess a Master's Degree in Social Work/ Sociology/ Social Sciences/ Management/ or any related field, from a reputed institute.

  • Minimum five years of work experience, preferably in the NGO sector, managing multiple NGOs and networks.
  • Must possess knowledge/understanding of statutory requirements and laws which governs NGO /Foundations /Trusts /company in India.
  • Prior experience of working with the 'voluntary' sector is essential;
  • Experience of civil society organization's institutional capacity building is desirable;
  • Applicants having basic knowledge of accounting shall be at an advantage.
Technical Skills:
  • Understanding of the NGO sector.
  • Knowledge of NGO market and fundraising, including ability to meet fundraising targets.
  • Proficient in using standard MS Office applications.
Interpersonal Skills:
  • Persuasive, organized, sharp business acumen, proactive with personal drive to exceed targets.
  • Positive attitude with ability to motivate self and team, team worker with excellent analytical skills.
  • Good presentation skills with an ability to address/adapt to small and large audiences
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.

Main purpose of job:
  • To lead and further grow CAF’s Corporate Advisory work, taking the advisory and consulting model to scale and continuing to develop its service offering as a provider of expert advice on strategic and effective giving to companies.
  • To focus on strategic business planning and business development – building a consulting model which both deepens current client relationships and develops new ones as well as generating increased revenue to allow the expansion of the team and growth in Advisory services.
  • To represent CAF externally and increase Corporate Advisory’s reputation in the market as a centre of excellence for corporates clients
Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear vision and leadership for how CAF Corporate Advisory can develop in the next three to five years to be a market leader in India and globally.
  • Develop and implement a strategy and scalable business model to grow CAF Corporate Advisory services in the in the area of corporate responsibility/community investment.
  • Develop and implement a strategy, which demonstrates the commercial success of corporate advisory and consulting while championing the social impact CAF has through its advisory and consulting services.
  • Ensure the CAF Advisory offering links to existing CAF products and services, leveraging internal resources and capitalising on CAF’s current position in the market.
  • Conduct industry sector specific analysis for developing CSR platforms for national/specific region based industries, including for Small and Medium Scale sector, supply chains, and large Indian and multi national companies.
  • Develop thematic strategies on development sector issues, capturing existing work of CAF and national and local level sector analysis for developing CSR platforms for, companies.
  • Define and set quality standards for deliverables at every step of corporate advisory work, including donor submissions, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Building up of a new business entity for CAF India on advisory.
  • Provide leadership and management to a strong team of Managers to support them to implement their corporate advisory proposition and develop their thought leadership and relationships with companies, private banks.
  • Developing new and existing corporate client relationships in the area of Advisory & Consultancy. Confidently working with a range or corporate and business clients to assist the development of their CSR and CCI programmes
    1. Being able to confidently write proposals and presentations to pitch for new work
    2. Able to lead client meetings and provide follow up support
    3. Experience in developing strong client relationships and providing day-to-day support
  • Develop contact and network in the different types/range of companies, including Small and Medium size enterprises
  • Provide guidance to companies on developing CSR policies, partnerships with CSOs and training to companies on development sector issues
  • Managing and delivering A&C projects including desk research/ market intelligence, CSR/CCI and charity partnership projects, stakeholder engagement and facilitation, strategy development
  • Researching and dissemination knowledge in the area of CSR and CCI (or a relating relevant area)
  • Responsible for day-to-day administration of corporate advisory including updating budgets, tracking projects, keeping records up-to-date.
  • Ensure the right skills and resources are in place to deliver against the corporate advisory strategy
  • Provide quality assurance to all CAF’s advisory work, including advisory delivered by/in partnership with CAF’s international offices.
  • Work closely with other units of CAF, particularly the sales, marketing, communications, programs, donor services, regional representatives/offices, due-diligence teams and CAF’s global alliance to ensure CAF Advisory is represented and positioned appropriately
Thought Leadership and External Representation
  • Help grow and strengthen CAF’s brand and reputation as a provider of strategic advice and thought leadership, demonstrating how we add value to our corporate clients
  • Proactively seek out opportunities to represent CAF externally in India on issues relating to strategic and effective giving, philanthropy, corporate community investment and social investment and social impact
Job Related Competencies

Candidates would ideally have had exposure to both the private sectors companies and non-profits. Candidates will be entrepreneurial with strong commercial skills and a passionate belief in delivering impact.
  • 10+ years of experience on delivering a range of Corporate CSR advisory /consultancy work, working with CSR teams in an agency or business setting
  • Proven track record in developing, delivering, managing CSR/CCI projects
  • Strong understanding of the Companies Act 2013 and related socio- legal and policy environment governing CSR in India.
  • Experience of strategic planning and business modelling, ideally in a cross-sectoral, multi-disciplinary field
  • Strong proposal writing skills and experience of working with (financial and/or impact) target driven business models
  • Strong management, influencing and negotiating skills
  • Experience of the consultancy business and of taking the provision of small scale, bespoke consultancy and advice to scale
  • Deep understanding of the role of philanthropic capital (either private or corporate) in achieving social impact and change
  • Proven understanding of effective philanthropy
  • Excellent communication skills including the gravitas to represent CAF at the highest level within companies and governments and to speak publically and confidently about philanthropy with Corporates and at events.
  • Proven experience of strategic thinking, development of thought leadership and intellectual rigour.
  • Good attention to detail and able to deliver high-quality written outputs
  • Proven ability to inspire and lead a passionate and intelligent team.
