Help feed the children of Nagada

Nagada village, located in Jajpur district of Odisha, is losing its’ children at an alarming rate. More than 15 little ones of the primitive Juanga tribe have died of malnutrition-related diseases in the last few months, triggering anxiety and panic-like situation among the villagers.

Even as the marginalised villagers struggle to come to terms with the deaths of their children, scores of children have been hospitalised and are fighting to survive.

Lack of proper road connectivity is proving to be a major hurdle in providing nutrition and health services. There is no health sub-centre, a fair price shop or a school for children to pursue their dreams. Nagada is situated on the hilltop in a dense forest under mineral-rich Sukinda block. For even basic necessities, the villagers trek more than 15 km through a dense forest to reach a motorable road.

CAF India has already been in touch with its partners and volunteers to assess the gravity of the situation on the ground. This is a battle we can all fight together if we can lend a helping hand.

Let’s not wait till tomorrow. The need is to support them today. NOW !
