I. SITUATION REPORT OF FLOODS- India 2019:

Severe floods in the Indian states of Assam, Bihar, Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra have left communities, settlements, livestock and wildlife in a lurch. While, efforts to provide relief and rehabilitation to victims are in full swing, the floods have so far claimed several lives. Agencies like National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are deployed in flood-hit areas of the country, including Assam and Bihar, and a 24X7 control room has been set up in Delhi to closely monitor the regions. The state governments and disaster response agencies have teamed up to carry out the relief and rehabilitation activities. The death toll continues to rise, with more than 6.55 lakh people displaced across 1,402 relief camps in Assam, Bihar, Karnataka and Kerala.
