Implementation Model

1. Click-Upload-Pledge

As the name suggests, the campaign is geared to encourage citizens to ‘click’, and ‘upload’ images of unclean public spaces on a selected medium. By doing so, they take a ‘pledge’ to be actively engaged in the cleanliness initiatives in their area.

2. Screening of photos

A screening committee will short-list and selected images of places which will be taken up under the campaign. 100 such pictures/sites will be identified and selected to be cleaned up within a period of one year. The individuals whose pictures have been selected will be acknowledged as ‘Cleanliness Ambassadors’.

3. Engage, volunteer, collectivize and act

After a picture is selected, the identified partner NGO along with the municipal authorities will start mobilizing the community around that site to actively engage in the cleanliness initiative.

4. Finally, upload images of cleaned spots

Once the site is cleaned up, the ‘Cleanliness Ambassadors’ and the local community will be asked to click a picture of the clean area and upload it again on the Facebook page labeling it as a ‘Litter-Free Zone’.

Post the cleanliness drive, the partner NGO will continue to handhold and work with the community groups to sustain the program interventions as well as coordinate with the municipal authorities as and when required.
