3. What is the maximum number of NGOs that an individual can support?
You can support as many NGOs as you want from CAF India's list of validated NGOs.
4. Does the entire sum of what one contributes go to the NGO that one has chosen to support?
CAF India retains 10% of donations to cover administrative costs. This enables us to perform due diligence, monitoring and providing training and capacity building of our NGO partners. We do not retain any percentage of donations for our operational expenses.
5. How do I start giving?
CAF India makes it easier for you to donate to a cause or NGO you would like to support. The process is very simple. Click on

giving@cafindia.org. CAF India provides you with a 50 percent tax exemption on all donations under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. A hard copy of the receipt will be sent to you within 30 working days after the amount donated gets credited to CAF India.
6. What are the options CAF provides for me to give effectively?
With a minimum donation of Rs 500 per month, you can help make a difference. Some examples:
- Rs 500 can cover the cost of medicines, dressing wounds and supplementary nutrition for people with HIV.
- Rs 500 can sponsor the cost of running a telephone helpline for cancer patients for three months.
- Rs 500 can help one person under Apna Rozgar Scheme (ARS) to buy a sewing machine and set up his shop for income generation.
- Rs 500 can give a recreational evening to lonely elderly people.
- Rs 500 can provide comprehensive development of eight children (Physical, Fine Motor, Social, Language, Cognitive and psychological) through education and training.
These are just some of the examples of what Rs 500 can do to help transform the lives of the marginalized and vulnerable sections of our local community.
