This year CAF India has helped GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare in identifying a key health issue and an appropriate NGO partner with the aim of creating awareness and addressing Kalazar, health and sanitation issues in North Bihar. The project is expected to benefit upto 75,000 people in Samastipur, Muzaffarpur and Katihar in about 18 villages in Bihar.
Haryana is known for its skewed girl child sex ratio. The new National Family Health Survey (NFHS) data revealed that on an average across the state of Haryana there are 772 women for every 1000 males, with Sonepat as one of the most affected districts. CAF India with support from the company and NGO partner is currently running projects in three villages of Sonepat.
