A needs assessment was conducted in all critical areas during on-site visits in January and February 2005 to ascertain the extent of damage and identify project partners. With inputs from district authorities on areas of intervention, short-term and long-term plans for support were identified and followed through with the government, not-for-profit organisations and others.
Following dialogue and discussion with the CAF India trustees, the government and our charity partners, it was decided that the Tsunami Rebuilding Lives Fund would focus attention on three critical areas:
BLESS was identified as CAF India's implementing charity partner for the Livelihood Project.
